HP-41CX Date Format
Message #1 Posted by SteveH on 28 Mar 2006, 12:38 a.m.

I was playing around at setting up the date and time on my HP41-CX which is one of my 'backup' HPs so I am not too familiar with its functions.

I setup the time format to 24 hour, with the date displayed in MDY format. However when I tried to set the date I generated a data error. I realise that say 28.03199 is 28th March 1999 and initially assumed that 28.03006 would be the format for today but this was always rejected. What was accepted was 28.03206 - is this correct?

Not really.
Assuming you were inputting data in MDY format and not DMY as you did:
28.03199 is 28th March 1990.
28.03006 is 28th March 60 AD(!) Rejected since it is not a gregorian date.
28.03206 is 28th March 2060.

Try with 3.282006 (MDY) or 28.032006 (DMY).

Greetings,
Massimo
