I haven't managed to solve the problem so far, but I think the problem is that I cannot get 2 of the circuits in the gold plate open. Tomorrow I'll dismantle it and bend the contacts down a little and see if I can get the contacts to open. I'll inform you of my success ... or failure.

If that doesn't work, take the four nylon balls out and and check for flatness before you go bending anything. If they sit flat against the plate, that's not the problem. The screws do interact with each other and sometimes you just need to reset all and start over. Great fun isn't it?
