HP 82161A Battery Pack
Message #1 Posted by Terry Burne on 13 Oct 2006, 6:56 a.m.

Hi,

My name is Terry from Bela-Bela in South Africa. I have been an ardent HP Calculator fan for many years, and as such possess about 10 different models including certain enhancement units. I have the thermal printer and digital cassette drive for the HP 41 C Calc. However although in mint condition, I need to source battery packs for them. Can anyone advise please.

Many Thanks,

Terry.

Terry,

new battery packs can be found on eBay. Look for the offerings from waterhosko

If put one of these into my HP-97 which works perfectly.

A do-it-yourself solution could be to wire 4 NiMH AA cells in series (those with soldering tabs bonded to each end) and tape them together. The battery compartment is large enough to hold the pack. Solder the pack to the battery contacts with thin wires or use small clamps to connect it.

http://nicdlady.com/ does custom rebuilds. I've seen ones they unglued or cut the plastic frames on and replaced the batteries and put it all back together, and it looked like a factory job.
