HP-41 on an HP200LX...
Message #1 Posted by Andreas Terzis on 17 Mar 2006, 1:42 a.m.

Hi there, Does anyone know of an HP-41 or any other RPM emulator for the HP-200LX with a graphical interface (non-DOS)? (OK, I won't dare ask for a System Manager compliant one). I have found a lot of those (even an HP-29C emulator) but with a character-based interface. Thanks, Andreas

Sorry, I do not know a "200LX-multitasking-able" (SysMan compliant EXM) of an HP41 emulator. But JF Garnier's work so nice, a must as he offers a special LX version. An RPN demo looks quite nice on the 200LX too. Hope this helps too.

Mike, Thanks for the info. I didn't know about all the emulators. Regards, Andreas

Andreas,

have you tried the built-in one, set to RPN mode?

No keystroke programming but it has the algebraic solver, TVM and more.

Marcus, I have definitely tried the built-in calculator in RPN mode. Of course, I am looking for something more powerful, with more functions on the keyboard, let alone that a lot of times even simple number entry is unreliable - if you press keys fast they don't always register!!! That is the reason I was looking for an emulator. Thanks for your suggestion though, Andreas

Missing keystrokes? Got an old item, I assume, or do you need a DS upgrade (DS=double speed)?? You know http://www.hp200lx.org??? Otherwise: have a nice WE with it.

Ciao.....Mike

BTW: I still wate for a replacement of the 200LX, as the LX once was a replacement of the HP-41 (for me at least).

Mike, I have the DS upgrade but I still miss keystrokes! Do you not? Andreas

No, I do not. At a certain age you'll get slower. It's several years ago now that I was the user with the most interrupts and CPU-usage. Today I am happy if I still can see the keys <G>.

Ciao.....Mike
