HP71 Cosmetics Message #1 Posted by John Kercheval on 20 Feb 2006, 8:32 a.m. Does anyone know how to take scrapes out of the gold faceplate on the 71B? Regards, John

The only way I see is polishing the entire metal surface with very, very fine (!) sandpaper or some other modestly scraping or polishing material. One should realise however that the texture of the surface will change as well due to such a treatment, resulting in a different optical appearence, which is undesired by you I guess. I would just leave it as it is or provide myself with a replacement of the plate from another unit.
