HP16C manual dated 9/83
Message #1 Posted by John Leith on 18 Feb 2006, 3:19 p.m.

The original manual for the HP16C (purch. Apr. 1984) is 170 x 117 mm (not counting the spiral binding), their part number "00016-900001 Rev. C English" amd "Printed in U.S.A. 9/83" on the back cover. The calculator has "USA 2417A85315" stamped on one edge. Works fine, never replaced the battery, but it is only lightly used. Not for sale! This relates to some exchanges on the forum from Feb. 2005, but I can't figure out how to link my msg. to that thread.

John --

A post from that time has gone to the Archives, and is no longer linkable or "repliable". What you should do is find the original thread in the appropriate HP Forum Archives (#14 or #15), and use the "Link" button below to paste in a link to a specific post in the thread.

P.S. I wish your manual were for sale! A genuine color spiral-bound HP-16C manual is one of the few items I'm missing, but it's rare and expensive on eBay. I do have a correct-size B/W spiral-bound facsimile from the MoHPC scan, prepared by Kinko's for US$40.

Hi, Karl;

I have an original HP16C Owner's Manual dated September 1985 (00016-90001, REV. E) and I can generate an entire, relatively high-res, color scan and leave it for a while to be downloaded. The manual is 137 pages long (front and back covers already count). Would that be of interest for the `community members`?

Cheers.

Hello, Luiz --

Thank you for the offer, but I doubt that it would be necessary. The scan of the HP-16C User's Manual on MoHPC CD #1 is full color, pretty good resolution, and 13691 kB in size. (I had it printed and reduced in monochrome because color was way too expensive.)

Best regards,

-- KS

Oooh! Oooh! I have one with no revision letter, and dated April 1982. What do I win?

;)

Looks like I'll have to check the version on the Museum DVD. If there were revisions, that suggests there were corrections of errors.

Best,

Hi Les Bell, guys;

firts of all, congrats! You have a collectible piece, indeed.

I have some original HP manuals, and I'm glad to say that I have at least one of each Voyager´s: English, Portuguese and one in German (HP11C). The one I think is the most interesting of them is a July 1982, Rev. B HP10C Owner's Handbook. At page #94 it should have a program listing, but it has only the comments and the two big blue arrows indicating how the branching occurs in the edited program. I had to wait for the MoHPC listing prior to see the actual program contents.

Cheers!
