HP-12C batteries...
Message #1 Posted by gr8patra on 16 Feb 2006, 12:41 a.m.

Hi there, I am in the process of buying an HP-12C just as a collecting item. I am a computer scientist/IT developer and I won't use it for anything. (Is this an impulsive purchase?) The seller claims that it takes only one battery. Is that true? I thought it takes three of them. He says that HP started making those with one battery after a while. I asked if he's selling a Platinum edition but he says it's a regular HP-12C. Any ideas on that? Thanks, Patra

HI;

the information proceeds. Earlier regular HP12C worked with 3 x 1.5V, LR44-like button cells. Newer units work with a single 3V, flat button cell. Same as the one used with the Platinum series.

Cheers.
