fair price for an HP-45? Message #1 Posted by blurdybloop on 31 Oct 2005, 1:39 a.m. I have an extra HP-45 and manual that I'm planning on getting rid of. This is a version with painted OFF/ON indicator. It was filthy when I got it, and although it cleaned up nicely I wouldn't feel good in assessing its condition as better than 70%. It works, but it looks like something was spilled inside. The chrome is gone over the OFF/ON switch, there's a nick in the lens over the LEDs, the rubber feet are gone, a pair of holes were punched in the instruction foil to access the screws instead of peeling it back, and there's some sort of ID number scratched into the plastic in the battery compartment. On the good side: it did clean up, there's no corrosion on the battery or adapter contacts, and it's not badly marred. The manual's in fairly good shape. If it weren't for the fact that I already had a much nicer HP-45, I would have kept this one. It's suitable as a filler for a collection, and would probably restore well if someone put the effort into it. It looks like HP-45 calculators are a dime a dozen on eBay, and I don't want to rip anyone off. On the other hand, I don't want to underprice it. So, what do y'all think that it's worth?

Yeah, that was the impression that I got from recent eBay sales. It's not worth it to me to put it up for auction for a piddly $20.
