Best way to open a modul-housing
Message #1 Posted by Wilhelm Loidl on 23 July 2005, 7:55 a.m.

Hello!

In Gary Friedmans Book "Control the world with HP-IL" is an I/O-adaption of the HP-41c/cv time-modul desribed.

Can someone tell me how to "crack" the modul-case without problems ;)

Thank you

Check out --> http://www.tla.org/hp41/module.html

Other, possibly better methods exist but this has always worked well for me.

Thank you!

Found another way:

(but this finding was not nice: now I have to build a dblXmem modul too;)

I find that using long nose pliers (nozzle pliers) works best for me. This is the trick Diego Diaz told me about. The longer and thinner the nose the better. Put the nose of pliers in the module opening, and CAREFULLY open the pliers while at the same time applying counter pressure with your fingers opposite to pliers action (for balancing) until the module cracks. In 95% of cases the module opens flawlessly.

Thank you!

Hello!

The "knife-method" works perfect for me - thank you again!
