HP-42s WOW!!
Message #1 Posted by George Rose on 23 May 2005, 7:03 p.m.

Surely you all have seen the latest hp42S ebay auctions. $635.00 (yes that's SIX-hundred) for auction #5775841157 and a Reserve Not Met at $401.00 for auction #5775158961. I recently purchased a 42S and think its the best calculator I've ever owned. But I couldn't have afforded it at these prices.

To be fair, that was a new-in-box HP-42S, which is a rather rare item.

I collect slide rules. Even now, long after they stopped making them, someone will occasionally find a crate of new slide rules while cleaning up the back room in a college book store or drafting supply store. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to happen with HP calculators.
