Keyboard problem HP 41
Message #1 Posted by Peter on 17 Mar 2005, 12:34 a.m.

Hi,

I got an HP 41CV which works fine, just one row (the + 5 6 7) row does not work. The keys click just fine, I dusted the whole thing inside out a few times, cleaned all internal contacts with alcohol.

Any ideas? Thanks so much in advance.

Peter

Hi Peter,

if you have some spares, have you tried replacing
the CPU pcb and of course the zebra stripe ?

I had a similar case some time ago, where the rightmost
column of keys didn't work partially.

Replacing the zebra stripe alone didin't help,
but replacing the CPU pcb was the solution.

It's not necessarily the solution for your case,
but it's an option to try;-)

Another possibility is corrosion and/or a broken
lane on the keyboard pcb.

Regards,

Raymond
