Programming on HP48GX

Just looking at some software for surveying, SMI, to be exact. I noticed that when the SMI software is active, SMI is shown where the USER annunciator would normally be. Any ideas how this is done?

This is easy.

They simply replace the the stack loop.
Take a look at www.hpcalc.org for more info on stack replacements.

BTW I made a stack replacement which also shows
the running time and date at a different location.
