woodstock/97 plastic keyboard conditioning
Message #1 Posted by andy on 23 Aug 2004, 4:22 p.m.

I recently cleaned the keyboards on a 25 and a 97. They're nice and clean now but they still don't look that good. They're somewhat dried out looking with an almost whitish haze in some sections. The keys themselves look fine, its the brown plastic surounding the keys that looks bad.

Is there a good product to make the keyboard look new again?

Thanks,

Andy

After disassembling I let the keys "swim" for 1 day in a chlorine solution (the one you use to clen the toilet). This makes them quite well back to their original color. After that I brush the housing and the key's with a light abbrasive stuff (white, chalklike) you use for cleaning the sink. This gives back the normal "glossy" appearance and lightens the yellowed signs. But use this carefull, you do not want to "clean" the letters.

Succes

Novus Plastic Polish #1 (and maybe #2 if you need to remove scratches too) are exactly what you need for this.
