Message #1 Posted by calin b on 14 May 2004, 2:21 p.m.

Does anybody know why my computer with Win 98SE doesn't see the camera photosmart c200. I have installed the software and it doesn't connect to the camera. I search it with Add hardware and nothing.

If it is connected using a USB port, you may have to go into the CMOS to activate the port.

It is connected to a serial port. I have to serial ports available and both are enabled. What else I can do?

Which COM port are you using and are you using an internal dial-up modem? Most internal modems are set to use COM2 and will also block COM4. It may be in conflict with you modem. Try moving it to COM1 if it is not already there and check all of the port settings in Windows as well as the software you are using.

Hi Richard,

You are bringing some old memories of DOS and Win3.3.1......
