Early 41C Keyboard
Message #1 Posted by 41Jeff on 15 Apr 2004, 7:44 a.m.

I am currently attempting to repair an early fullnut 41C keyboard (Ser. 2036A) and have run into a problem during disasembly. I have stripped off all the heads on the heat stakes but cannot remove the board because of a black plastic strip at the bottom end that seems to be permanently attached to the two screw posts holding the circuit board in place. This part lies directly under the sandwhich connector for the CPU board. Does anyone know how to handle taking this apart?

You can usually slide a wide Xacto knife blade under the strip near each post and gently pry it free. If your posts have been stressed they may come off with the strip...
