HP41 battery connector repairs Message #3 Posted by Randy Sloyer on 22 Mar 2004, 8:28 p.m., in response to message #1 by Jim Creybohm
AFAIK, the brass cap solution was David Smith's solution for corroded battery terminals, he did offer it here in a post many moons ago for $20 or so. It works very well, it's easy to do and does not wear out like copper foil solutions. I don't see it as a stop-gap solution, it will probably out last the calculator as a repair.
It of course does not address damage beyond the four battery points. Once the port connectors or the main logic board connector are damaged, it's toast. Repair is pretty much out of the question. Buy a used C or CV, rob the connector and resell the rest as it is now about the only way to get a replacement.
