Securing modules in a 41...
Message #1 Posted by JasonG on 3 Mar 2004, 11:27 a.m.

Hi there,

I would like to find some fairly tidy way of securing the modules in the top of my 41cv whilst still allowing the card reader to plug in too. The problem is that a couple of them rattle around a bit and worry me that they might fall out. I have tried a wipe of hot-glue (which can be picked/rolled off when required) but it is impossible to make it look tidy. I only use the extended functions and two extended memory modules and occasionally the card reader, so repeated swapping around of the modules is unnecessary.

Any ideas/tips/do's-n-don'ts?

I've never had a module fall out of my HP-41 although I carried it around a lot for a long time. I agree that they don't appear to be secured very much, but it is sufficient in all cases.

Cheers, Victor

Indeed, I'm not too worried about modules actually falling out but they do rattle around a bit. I think I'll stick (pun intended!) to using the hot-glue as it's nice and easy to remove when I want to and does the job nicely, if not particularly tidily.
