HP41 Card Readers repairs Message #1 Posted by Charles on 9 Feb 2004, 6:07 p.m. I have repaired the "gummy" wheels on both my card readers and cleaned them thoroughly. One works well, the other pulls the card through fairly smoothly but shows "MALFUNCTION" or (rarely)"CHECKSUM ERR". Does this mean that the magnetic head has failed ? Could it be something else - the switches between the PCB and card slot were disturbed but work well when the card is inserted ? Thnaks for any any help.
