32E Error 9 Message #1 Posted by Ron on 13 Nov 2003, 1:25 a.m. I have a 32E which seems to work well. However, when running the self test, it is inconsistent in the final display. Sometimes it shows all zeros, sometimes just a minus, sometimes it shows the full display for a fraction of a second before going back to the previous entry, etc... Often though (about every other time), it shows ERROR 9, and occasionally (rarely) ERROR 0. After I finally got up the courage to POP it apart, I found that it is solderless. I cleaned all the chip and switch contacts, and reassembled. There has been no change. Everything elso looks pretty good. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

So this seems like the CHECK ENGINE light in my car; the only thing wrong with it that the check engine light is on. In this case, the calc seems to work fine; the only thing wrong with it is that it fails the self test. Anyway, for the sake of completeness, I still would like it to pass the test.
