HP-85A to HP-85B Conversion (82972A)

HP-82972A Conversion (HP-85A to HP-85B Conversion)

I have an HP-85B that is marked HP-85 and has a sticker inside the printer compartment that says "82972A Installed."

I have always just assumed that was some sort of upgrade. I haven't been able to find anything on this part number. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough. However, while going through some misc HP-85 documents today, I came across the "Conversion Instruction Sheet."

If I read this correctly, the conversion is very extensive. Install HP-85B PCA, Printer/Power Supply PCA, Logic PCA, as well as Mass Storage, Electronic Disc, and I/O ROMs.
