WHAT is this ? HP-41 / HP-IL rarity @ Ebay

Hi,

it's an HP-IL to serial interface, which is switchable between pure serial printer output, and serial I/O. For this some of the signal lines have to be swapped, which is done via a switch here.

Back then these interfaces were, amongst other things, used to connect HP's to surveying equipment, like total stations / theodolits.
