HP48/49, converting units
Message #1 Posted by Francesc Casanellas on 12 Oct 2003, 9:46 a.m.

In the HP49 manuals, the way to convert units is explained as follows. For example to convert 12 m to ft (RPN):

12_m 1_ft CONVERT

However as explained briefly in the HP48 guide, if you are not programming, it is much faster to go to the UNITS/LENGTH menu and type

12_m (type “12” and then “m” soft key) LS ft (Left Shift and “ft” soft key)

Using RS (Right Shift key) units are divided.

I do not understand why this is not explained in the HP49 manual. I think you need to get the User’s Guide and the Advanced User’s Reference Manual of the HP48 to use all the resources of the HP49.
