regression - logarithmic curve fit
Message #1 Posted by pieropiero on 2 Oct 2003, 9:37 a.m.

From the HP-67 standard pack I have converted into qbasic language the linear, power, and exponention formulas as mentioned in pages 03-02 thru 03-04. They work alright but I am unable to make use of the logarithmic regression curve fit. This will not give the correct results. I do not need the qbasic program lines but I would like to get the correct logarithmic regression formula. Any help will be welcomed.

I have some spare HP items, such as HP-41 complete with card reader and printer. Anyone interested?

The form of the curve is:

y=a+b*ln(x)
, where
x>0
.
