Help Please - HP32SII Fractional Display Message #1 Posted by Chris Thomson on 16 Aug 2003, 12:06 a.m. Like so many others, my HP32SII has been a trusty friend for years. My (about 1994) model is helping me do some carpentry framing in Thailand. When I came over here last year, I didn't realize that I would be staying, so I left the instruction manual in storage in the USA. There are two settings for the Fractional Display mode (FDISP orange shift "." key). The denominator for the fractional display is controlled by the value of /c, blue shift "." key. Mine is on the setting I don't like. I want to be able to change /c value to 8, 16, 32, etc., and have that /c value remain constant. Now it is in some type of float mode that I've never found useful. I can't remember how to switch the setting. I recall having done it a few times over the years, and that switching the setting is not a straightforward exercise unless one refers to the manual. The manual tells how to do it. Can someone please post the instructions for switching that setting? Thank you in advance, Chris Thomson

I posted here first, then immediately jumped over to HP's website "just for grins" to check & see if they had the answer. Since I knew the HP32SII was discontinued, I never dreamed they would still have support online. However, to my great satisfaction, the manual was available *free* in .pdf format, and I had it quickly downloaded. Reason I always buy HP - just bought the Compaq laptop I'm writing this on in May. So, scratch my request. FYI - Three fractional display modes. Mode I wanted is what they call "Factors of denominator." Procedure is to set flag 8, clear flag 9. Thanks to everybody, Chris
