HP95LX HELP !!
Message #1 Posted by Rick VanHuss on 5 Aug 2003, 7:56 p.m.

I just bought a HP95LX for 40.00, no manual or cables of course, and need help with a PC cable to program it. Anybody know the pin-outs? I know the Hp pins, but dont know how to hook them to the PC (serial 9 pin?). A manual (or zip file) would be nice if anybody has it.($$). Also once the cable is connected what do I use to xfer the data? The computer was cheap, but I dont have a sram-pcmcia card for it (125.00)for 1 meg. Also do I need to upgrade any of the software. Any help would be VERY appreaciated.

The old palmtop paper is online at

www.palmtoppaper.com/

Look at the earlier archives which included lots of good stuff on HP95LX.

don't give up hope on the PCMCIA card. there are files at palmtop.net that supposedly allow use of sandisk cards, and these are very cheap. even SRAM cards come up on ebay occasionally.

i have the manual at home, and will check on serial connection info, since you have to get the driver into the 95lx to use a sandisk. also, there is the IR port. you can use a terminal program with the serial cable if you don't have the connectivity kit software. there is a wealth of info at the links posted by Katie.

guess i was lucky to get the 95lx, manuals, cable w/ connectivity kit, and sram for $45 :)

here are the pin connections for the 9-pin DB end:

1, 4, 6-9 not used.

2 transmit data (from 95lx) 3 receive data (to 95lx) 5 signal ground

best of luck,

bs
