HP-41CV - Card Reader
Message #1 Posted by Frank V on 28 July 2003, 6:51 p.m.

The card reader on my HP-41CV is not responding. I have tested the same card reader on the HP-41C and it works as expected. I don't know what the problem could be? Can someone out there please guide me in the right direction. Thanks.

Hi, Frank;

what you wrote leads to I/O problems (most likely to be bad contact) in your CV. The best remedy would be to open the calculator and clean the contacts between the BATT/IO assembly and the calculator contact pads. You could also test another extension (printer, wand, ROM module) in port 4, the one used by the reader, and see if they also fail.

If the reader works fine in the HP41C, the HP41CV I/O is the first to be checked.

Success. And let us know if you need more advice.
