Re: Tell me more about the memo compiler... Message #7 Posted by hugo (Belgium) on 23 June 2003, 3:18 a.m., in response to message #6 by Gene
1) you need the memo compiler (P41CXKC12.zip) from the site where can also download the P41CX. After synchronising this compiler to your Clié you are able to use memo's to write and compile programs for P41CX.
2) i use Microsoft Outlook to synchronise memo's between my Clié and my computer; i assume you could also use other programs like the Palm desktop, but the procedure would be comparable;
3) as an example, let's take the program for the calculation of Reynolds numbers from the Chemical Engineering Solution Book which you can find in the HP41C Sofware library on the MoHPC. Open this page on MoHPC and select the prgram with the cursor; copy to the clipboard; open Outlook, create a new memo and paste it in there. Do not forget to add the following as the first line of the memo: #P41CX LOAD otherwise the compiler will not recognize this memo as a HP41 program to compile.
4) synchronise this memo to the Clié
5) on the clie start the application P41CXKX (the compiler), it will indicate "Loading P41CX program from memo pad... OK"
6) In the menu of this application, choose "Go" "Compile", you will see then the program scrolling as the compiler loads it.
7) start P41CX, start program mode "PRGM" and select the menu of P41CX by clicking the button for menus on your Clie (the one below the Home icon)
8) choose "Edit" "Load" and the P41CX will load the program in its memory (you can follow it on the display)
This way, all programs you can find in the MoHPC program library are "easily" downloaded to your P41CX!
hope this explanation can help you
