HPLX Codenames
Message #1 Posted by Mike on 28 May 2003, 9:14 a.m.

HP95LX is Jaguar, HP100LX is Cougar, HP200LX is Felix(?), HP1000CX is Puma. Now who the f*ck is "Lion"?

Had the SW different codenames than it's HW?

How knows?

Ciao.....Mike

BTW, if you are realy sure about those codenames pls reply to hp41cx at web dot de

TIA

I think (not 100% sure) that "Lion" was a sub-notebook PC, with a 386 sx processor and running Windows 3.1 in standard mode (not multitasking). It has all the software in ROM (Windows, Word and Excel) and a very curious "mouse" attached with a plastic arm to the side of the machine. I don't remember the commercial name, but it was one of the first to use the OmniBook label.

These are just imperfect memories from 10 years ago, I apologize for possible errors.

You mean the first OmniBooks (the REAL OmniBooks!).

However, there was another variant of the 200LX, the OmniGo 700LX. Maybe this is the Lion? I mean the other Lion, other than Raul;-)

Unless my memory is broken, I believe that 'lion' was the Omnibook 300, which was the first Omnibook, and indeed as you described it here (mouse on a stick, Windows in ROM, no internal spinning drives, long battery life, etc.).

Thank you for the info. Was there some special data exchange between "Lion" and the HP200LX? Or some special SW charing databases between this systems?

TIA.....Mike
