RPN
Message #1 Posted by Henk van Wyk on 7 May 2003, 3:28 p.m.

I am the owner of an HP41C and love the RPN feature. Are newer models available which also have RPN ? The ones that I see in South Africa all have conventional functions.

Henk,

I saw HP12c's, HP48GX's and HP49G's(new) for sale in Cape Town about 1 month ago at a number of branches of Audiolens. The 48's and 49's use RPL which is close to RPN and the 12c uses RPN but is essentially only financial. I can't remember the price but I think that it was R2000 for the 48 or 49. There are no HP32Sii's in stock.

I suspect that you would get a better deal on e-bay if you can trust the mail.

There are two great newer models available, usually on ebay. The HP41CV and the HP41CX. Even though these have been so-called obsolete for 13 years, in my biased opinion you do not need to look any further for a great RPN calculator (I can't stand to use an algebraic calculator for even 20 seconds). Then some people like the HP42S, I am told too.
