Help with 82240B Printer repair

I sold an hp 82240B IR printer which self-tested fine. After having it for a week the buyer told me that when he received it, he put in batteries and it worked fine for a few minutes and then "the paper stopped and the stylus burnt up". He wants to know where to get replacement parts or if anyone can repair it.
So, my questions are -- Can can this be repaired and by who?...Are there replacement parts?...Why did the paper stop and the stylus burn up?
