Ballistics programs for HP41C or 42S? Message #1 Posted by Bill Wiese on 20 Dec 2002, 7:44 p.m. Hi folks.. Any exterior ballistics programs for HP41C or 42S? That is, knowing things like ballistic coefficient, muzzle velocity, height of sights over bore, etc., a zero point, I can figure rifle shot trajectories?? Play with zero, watch impact point change? No you haven't pissed me off :) This is for my rifles. And yes, Martinez might be in "cannon" range of San Jose if you count naval guns as such. Yes, temperature, barometric pressure, altitude, humidity can all play a part. But some of these variables can be quantized into 'bands' since even moderately large variations have relatively small effect on impact at a given range (and if they have larger effects at longer ranges sometimes a better choice of caliber is in order - say, changing from .308 to .30-06 to .300 Winchester Short Magnum.
