code names
Message #1 Posted by steve leong on 7 July 2002, 9:15 a.m.

I was looking in the museum the other day and noticed that the 10c,11c,12c,15c,and 16c did not have code names listed is that an omission of the museum, or was this done by hp, or do we just not know?

Right, curious but true: codename(11C)=codename(12C)! Take it as a matter of fact, they were both equally codenamed :-)

Yes, Mr. Todd is right! The numbers (the code-names actually) probably have been chosen so as to indicate the degree of "sophistication" of the calc in question (and in relation to each other). As for the 16C, presumably "PR" has been chosen as "code-name" to indicate that it's a PRogrammers calc. B.t.w., if you want to learn more on this topic in general, try to get a copy of Wlodeks really excellent book "A guide to HP handhels calculators and computers" from which I have my information too (see the "Books and Magazines" chapter on this site).
