Whaddya mean, PYRAMID scheme?
Message #1 Posted by Paul Brogger on 6 May 2002, 4:14 p.m.

I did the math on my calculator -- I'm sending my money in today!

And I'm still waiting for my HP-4/01 (or whatever it was)!

No only that, I do believe the US Postal Service does consider this illegal. My neighbor tried it and the postal service contacted them and told them to stop or face charges. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. I don't doubt some folks are making money on these things but why take the chance.

Hello;

try to figure that out: if all people around the world accept to participate on a Pyramid, who will the last participants send the Pyramid scheme to? Everyone else had already been there, so no one will accept going twice, three times, four times... That's the big question: am I in the last row? If so, I'm sending money to someone and no one will send me any money. And you sent the money for your own, so no one can be blamed.

Simple as that...

Anyone that gets ripped of in a pyramid scheme, deserves what they get.

Doesn't everyone by now know that they are a SCAM. Either you are the SCAMMER or you are SCAMMED.

Those are the only two choices.

I can only speak for myself, but I work pretty hard to stay exactly between those two on the "business" spectrum. Hard work to not get scammed, however I would agree, evan realizing it can be a problem. Besides, it is scamming or just great marketing with lack of delivery? Does the FTC investigate?

Often I recieve such wonderful offers via email. I wrote to the US postal service about how it would handle this email, if I so kind-heartedly printed it out and mailed to them via the US mail. Since it sounded like such a wonderful deal, I did not want to see my local post office left out. Never heard from them one way or the other. I certainly did not want to participate in such a great offer, only to have the Federal authorities put the cuffs on ME!

Dave Hicks likely and quite wisely deleted the original posting from a Pyramid Scheme poster. He also deleted my message teasing him about being asleep at the mouse! ;+}
