Who can help? My hp42s mostly is not able to switch on. It produces a permanent beee ee ee eeep and than isn't to switch off. Sometimes it works correct, an passes the selftest?!?

Have you tried changing the batteries? I have one that was failing the selftest and when I changed the batteries, viola it works fine.
