Re: HP PC Connectivity Kit for HP-49 and Windows XP Message #2 Posted by CJ on 6 Jan 2002, 6:40 a.m., in response to message #1 by Jeff
I think there is something just functionaly wrong with the program, period.
I was using win98 at the time but don't think that would matter. I would try and backup and it would upload all the data and promptly crash. Leaving me without a backup file. I guess my data is in the null bucket.
I tried atleast a dozen times. I rebooted. I tried different settings. I made sure nothing else was running that might use the port. Finally I gave up in disgust.
I rebooted one last time, went into Linux this time and used C-kermit. Worked without a hitch and I now have a backup of my calc.
Whomever wrote that "software?" should have all there calcs taken away and stomped to dust in front of them. And they shouldn't be allowed to release anymore of there software to the general public. pure crapware.
