I have a piece of junk from an HP33C. This is from the series were the ICīs are soldered on a conventional, fiberglass PCB. The flex is lost (batteries leakage), but I believe the PSU is functional. Would it be of any help? E-mail me and let me know if this model is the same as yours, by inspecting the serial #.

No, the PSU is different between the HP3xE and HP3xC models. The latter provides a standby supply to the memory chip in the position closest to the display. It's probably possible to convert one into the other, but I've not looked into the details.
