Cleaning residues from leaking battery
Message #1 Posted by George Jew on 29 Nov 2000, 2:59 a.m.

I just found my collection of HP calculators and various accessories I had put in storage about 15 years ago. Of course, I did not remove the battery pack and they leaked. What is the best way to clean the contacts, plastic, and PC board without removing any of the original material?

PS: I even found my prototype (clear case) 33C. Wonder what that is worth?

I'm not sure if it's the best method, but I've always used a pencil eraser. It seems to work just fine.

Avoid eraser debries going in, otherwise it is fine.
