Repairing HP67 Display
Message #1 Posted by Mike Davis on 26 Oct 2000, 11:59 a.m.

Just curious. One of my 67s has a single pixel out (not a segment but just a pixel). It's not a big deal but I'm wondering, if and when I decide to fix it, if I can use an LED display from a trashed HP-45.

Do these use the same LED display? I'm wondering from an originality point of view not just a functional point of view. I really don't want to open up the 67 just to take a look.

Thanks

Yes, the display out of any of the classic HP calcs will work in your 67. HOWEVER they are matched for brightness so it might a job to find one with the same brightness. The brightness level is indicated by a letter on the back of the display IC.

I suppose I could just change out all of the digits. Thanks
