SW for 95LX to PC connection
Message #1 Posted by Carlo on 26 July 2000, 7:01 p.m.

Does anybody know how to get that damn piece of software (HP seems to have forgotten to have once manufactured something called 95LX or so...) I've got just the hardware (the cable) and I'am presently exchanging files between my PC and my HP95LX just using Telix, but I guess the HP software could allow a somehow less primitive communication. Note: I'm not looking for it for free, I'm just LOOKING FOR IT: I'm not a pirate: if I find I can pay (obviously if it does not cost anything you will gain my lifelong gratitude, as long as it can be of some use).

Thank you and ciao!

Carlo/Italy

Some time ago I have seen a software product called TransFile Win 200, that allows to transfer files to and from an HP LX100/200. It was (is?) a nice product, it even was promoted by HP on its web site at the time (as an option for the then current HP LX200). The software was made by Yellow Computing Computersysteme GmbH around 1996. It does not contain the desktop version of the HP Palmtop PIM applications, as the HP connectivity kit did. It works with the "server" feature of the LX 200, so it does not require any software installation on the palmtop; and it works with Windows 95 on the PC. I don't know if it works for the 95 LX, but it is something you could try to determine...

Thank for your help, I will search for TransFile Win 200 and Yellow Computing on the web now; by the way I just discovered that my HP95LX is old enough for Hewlett-Packard (as like anything older than two months) but maybe too recent for HPMuseum (it is a 1994 machine): I have to wait still some 10 years before they will dedicate a directory to it... Ciao e grazie!

I don't know where you can get the HP communication software, but I always used ZIP.COM (or Kermit before that). You can get ZIP.COM at: http://palmtop.net/super9.html
