Just did the same with a 41CV myself, leaving the beast without batteries for nearly 48 hours (didn't have any spare "N" cells and I needed those in this machine). Guess what... memory and programs came back intact!

Where are all those people who were able to make things like this more than twenty years ago, and why aren't they making them anymore? I guess this explains why instead of the spaceship Discovery ready to reach Jupiter by next year, all we have is a tin can of a space station in LEO that almost fell back to Earth already...
