41CV Repairs
Message #1 Posted by Alexander Tudor on 11 Apr 2000, 11:02 p.m.

I have a 41CV with damaged inside battery connectors, caused by an old battery. It works intermitently. Tried to file the connectors, extend the load springs; nothing worked. Is there any repair center anymore for these calculators? Thank you,

Alex

Hi, I would read the repair article on this website at: http://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/hpmuseum/articles.cgi?read=2

It describes how to repair the battery contact if you have a soldering iron and some thin brass shim stock. Filing the contact, just removes the thin gold film and exposes the plastic underneath. If you can't do it yourself, I could easily do it for you.
