9114 disk drive (what drive am I)
Message #1 Posted by Steve on 20 Jan 2000, 2:38 a.m.

I've managed to get inside my 9114 (you need a Torx #8 with a long skinny shaft).

The drive has a 26 pin connector. From memory the current drives have a 34 pin connector.

If anyone has any knowledge of the interface to these drives cf current ones -- speak up.

These drives are so pretty it's almost worth leaving the lid off!

I don't know anything about the interface but they're Sony drives. They were some of the first 3.5" drives that came on the market. You may be able to find out more from Sony, I expect the specs and interface info was widely available.
