HP97 Battery Pak
Message #1 Posted by Sue on 8 Mar 1999, 5:08 p.m.

Have a boss that still uses his HP97. He keeps it plugged into the converter/adapter and a battery pak in at all times. The calculator is working intermittently and he thinks he needs a new battery pak for it to work. Could it be wired directly and eliminate the battery pak? Thanks for any help.

The battery acts as a reservoir to supply the current draw of the printer its also a fairly essential part of the power regulation. Take the battery out and the machine doesnt work as the adapter cant supply the current requirements of the machine itself. My *guess* is that you should try first with rebuilt battery and proceed from there. To answer your question directly yes it is possible but involves tweaking the internals of the machine.
