Hello From Houston
Don't know if this forum requires 'Hello World' posts, but on the occasion that they do, here is mine.

Learned RPN on the 48gx at TAMU in in the early 90s. Revisited the subject since my kids are in need of some calculation horsepower. I'm schooling the kids Free42 and my recent purchase of a 35s and 50g.

Cheers

Welcome to our little corner of the internet!

We don't require any such "hello world" posts but its nice to know a little bit about you and your calculators. I've moved your post to our primary, General Forum as it's totally on topic.

RE: Hello From Houston
Thx for the welcome. I went ahead and wrote up my thoughts on the hp35s with a few of my likes and dislikes.

Bit unpolished, I'll try to clean it up later.

Patiently waiting for my son to get his next HW assignment so I can "help". Just noticed my daughter started with chapter on slope and y-intercept *yeah*.

Brian ~ I enjoyed your review! My 15 year old daughter has been using a 35s for a couple of years now and seems to have taken to it. My 12 year old son has been eyeing my collection for a while and I hope to steer him toward either the 35s and eventually to one of my spare Charlemagnes (HP-48SX). Welcome to the MoHPC forum.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff. My son loves his 35s after I wrote a quadradic root finder and some complex number decomposition routines.

I'll post some programs later, but fear I may be missing the mark on the 'HP way'. Drawing on my old assembly days, I see a good program as one that leaves no trace. As little impact to the xyzt stack as possible and as few named variables and labels as possible. I use almost all indirect variable access. Problem is, it adds dozens of lines. My routines are not compact.

Anyway... more on that later... Thx to all, and I'll keep posting.
