RE: Keep or return?
The new 50 arrived today and was immediately set to the correct entry mode Wink
So far it is a nice unit even without keytime correction, even managed to get the USB drivers & transfer software installed on my Win 8.1 laptop without the use of bad language.

The only downside with this deal was that the unit came without the case.

RE: Keep or return?
Amazon are useless, they are stubborn and will not ship to Sweden.
Will probably buy a new 3:rd party case without the HP-logo from Teknovo Uno
on eBay later this week, they have a nice combo with a serial cable for my 48 and will ship here.

I think it depends on the seller, not amazon. You can set your account to find items that will ship worldwide.

EDIT: I think this one will ship anywhere in the world.

RE: Keep or return?
If the case is all you need, maybe you should also consider an SD card?, anyway, you should be able to find them locally and thus avoid all the expenses with importation taxes.

Don't leave it in the 50g permanently. I found that it adds a few secs to power on the calc. which is quite irritating after a short while.

Over the years, you'll learn that it is actually safer to keep it inside the 50g in order to avoid losing it. Smile

Format FAT16 on the card. Problem solved.

I'd also point out this is addressed in the quick start guide "troubleshooting" section...

Quote:The calculator will accept any SD card smaller than 2GB. Anything larger is an SDHC card and will not function. FAT is the best format to use on your card, because FAT32 causes a two second delay each time you turn on your calculator. The filer may not display the full capacity on your SD card if it is larger than 1GB, but you can still use the full space available even if it is not displayed.

RE: Keep or return?
I used the calc to format the card and I guess it worked as I don't experience any noticable delay at startup. Will measure the idle current later with and without the card to see if it is any difference between the card speeds and battery use.

RE: Keep or return?
Looks like I got all things sorted out now, case for the 50 and replacement serial cable for my 48 ordered.
Now I just hope there will be a slow day at work so I can explore the unit thoroughly Wink
