HP71 $750 160K RAM module
Found a brochure for Hand Held Products High Capacity Memory Modules.

These fit in place of the card reader. Capacities were 32K, 64K, 128k and 160K.

They also had 32K EPROM, and some combined EPROM and RAM modules. Some of the modules had a lithium battery for backup.

I'm thinking this was a late 80s kinda thing, but I can't find a date on the brochure.

2speed HP41CX,int2XMEM+ZEN, HPIL+DEVEL, HPIL+X/IO, I/R, 82143, 82163, 82162 -25,35,45,55,65,67,70,80

These modules can be frequently, and presently, found in 71's on eBay as well as the front-port CMT modules. If you find an interesting bit of vintage advertising, please make some nice scans to share with us. We all know this stuff exists but it's so much better to see it. Smile

BTW, I presently have 528k in my 71 and am preparing to install another 512k. Smile

My HP-71B HHP brochure for 71M/M-32K EPROM, 71M/M-32K/64K/96K RAM & 71M/M-32K RAM+EPROM has been stamped Oct. 24 1985.
Since it does not have the 128K/160K RAM modules my pamphlet is earlier, but I think yours should be within 1986-1987 timeframe.

Yes, I will be coming up to speed here as I'm able.

My skillset in getting pics from my Droid into my laptop are iffy. And for reasons unknown to me, once the images are in my cheap ASUS laptop, they aren't necessarily easy to do anything with.

Hopefully, if I get that far, image uploading here will be easier than some other places I post at.

[eeek!]

I've been advised by Verizon my course of action regarding my hinky Droid is to avail myself of a new phone, they aren't inclined to do anything about the software 'upgrades' that have messed up my current phone. As for my hinky laptop, if I keep Hotmail, I suspect my importing pictures from my phone is still going to be an ordeal. If every step of the picture taking and uploading chain wasn't fraught with peril and difficulty, I'd do more of it.

I completely understand. I didn't own a camera and resorted to my phone or my GF's camera. I got tired of having to take the camera off the tripod and plug it in to download pics, so today I received from Amazon a new camera with Wi-Fi. Painless download to PC. Smile

For sharing pics and docs on the forum I use Google Drive. 15GB of free storage.

I don't know about your laptop, but I have an ASUS Zenbook Prime and am quite satisfied.

Still have my Droid Incredible but I can't take pictures with it worth a darn. I'm reluctant to change my unlimited data plan with Verizon, and I get a discount with them through where I work.

It will come with time.

RE: HP71 $750 160K RAM module
I appreciate that.

It is frustrating it seems 35 year old calculator technology is more reliable than the new stuff. It irks me no end when something suddenly changes in my laptop or my phone and something I used to easily do is now something that doesn't even seem to be possible any more.

It used to be a snap to take a pic on my cell phone, email it to my hotmail, take the pic from the hotmail and put it in my 'pictures' on my laptop and then do things with the pictures.

Now, and I am claiming I did nothing to change anything, every step if that is difficult, and when some aspect of it doesn't work, or works differently than it did the time before, I want to smash something.

Grrrrrr.
