Wow, very cool! I didn't know about that model, but it's got some great features.

I'd love to get my hands on one of those, but it appears none of the Vietnamese shops will ship to the USA. At least the 4-5 that I tried. Looks like local in-country only. I hope some eBay seller can grab some and make them available here.

Checked the US website, still no fx-991CW, yet. However, the newer financial version FC-200V-2 Financial is now available. I just bought one.

Ooh, interesting, didn't even know that was coming. I do wish they'd redesign that model to use TVM solver keys instead of burying everything in menus and worksheets, though.

Is it truly planned, though? I just thought that was wishful thinking. I mean, Casio typically keeps their more feature-rich models out of the USA, and I thought the CW version was another example of that. I would be HAPPY to be wrong, though! I would really love to get my hands on one of the CW units, but I haven't seen them pop up on eBay ever in the past...

You might be right - I think a lot of Casios let you use the subtraction symbol for negative values too.

Yes. Between the models I have (See low portion of this post), the TI-36X Pro, Sharp EL-W516T and X, Casios behave with using subtract to create negative values or variables. TIs and Sharps have a Syntax Error fit.

Unless one of you folks already have a TI-30X Pro MathPrint (mine's coming in December), I'm presuming, that has a Syntax Error fit when trying to use minus to enter a negative nuber or variable.
TI-36X Pro, Casio fx-115ES (1st & 2nd editions), Casio fx-991EX Classwiz, 991 ES Plus 2nd Edition, Sharp EL-W516X & T. Of course, I own several (approximately a dozen) HPs & some (gasp) TIs.

I just checked out a pic. Looks extremely tempting.

I wonder if there’s a way to reset the calc to English in the event you accidentally switched the language. Maybe a recessed reset button?

I guess the Vietnamese is default. On CASIOs the language selection is not a big deal. I have a fx-82ARX, try to imagine... For the second trying I made the English.

I hope they kept the (SETUP MENU) (UP KEY) (LANGUAGE MENU) sequence same as on other Classwiz models. Goid question, how identify 'LANGUAGE MENU' . As I can remember if you search on YouTube for CASIO fx-880BTG, you will found language setting.

Because we are discussing about the 880BTG - maybe (?) hard to read my comments because I have no any idea about English language, but if you accepts the challenge, you can find amazing things hidden into garbage.

Maybe some people here missed the info about the Vietnamese version, which is same as 991CW, added periodic table and some other stuffs...

I don't either for sure, I am going off the trend that Casio tends to introduce calculators to Asia and probably Europe first before making their way to the United States.

I would like to see the fx-92+ spéciale collège come to the States, however I think that is a France-only calculator. The fx-92+ has a programming language mode (SRATCH).

Yes, France only, and only programmable Classwiz. I bought one from ebay, unfortunately everything is gone if switched off or touch ON, but really impressive when you draw on the LCD:
