Adding physical RAM to the 41C
Years ago, there was an article in PPC about adding a HP #82170-60001 ram chip inside a 41C case, which turned it into a 41CV without taking up a port. I asked Richard Nelson recently if he knew where I could find find the article, but he did not recall seeing it. He did tell me that he has sold all of his calculators and related materials and now concentrates on his 48 and RPL.

Does anyone here recall seeing the article, probably back in the early 1980's?

Thanks,

Dan

For reference, I did see a post from Jim Horn where he did a similar RAM upgrade to his HP-41C.

Article in PPC Calculator Journal V8N1P20 Jan/Feb 1981.

Installing modules inside the 41C. Instructions for RAM and ROM modules.

Good luck. Watch out for changes in the circuit board layout from the time of the article to when your machine was built.

You can do it! These machines are well worth the trouble. My '41Cv hybrid served me tremendously well for many years and I hope to find it in our storage units some day. Best to you!

So many signals, so little bandwidth!

Great time to plug the PPC archive usb drive. One of the best investments I've made. Great reading and invaluable insights.
