I must say, the photo blunder I pointed out in my previous post, combined with the lack of replies by our official contacts is terribly unfortunate. It does not instill confidence that all is well.

I would think they would take the few minutes to put the correct calculator because the difference between the 300+s and Prime is huge. I with you JDW, I don't have confidence either.

I don't know guys, we may be in the twilight of HP calculators, if it hasn't commenced already (hope I'm wrong on this).

Actually this is a good opportunity to measure the latency of updating the website. While clearly a bug/goof/oof it's just as clear that once pointed out, the Licensee team, that clearly participate here fairly regularly and hence now know it needs to be fixed, will request to have the problem corrected. Now we just count the days to see how long it takes for a Prime to look like a Prime. I'm guessing 5-7 days.

While most of the other models are priced about where they were, the 17Bii has crept up to $99.99. I wonder why 4/5 remain the same while the 5th one increased by 25%.

I wonder how much control Royal/Moravia have over the web site that I posted the link to.

That is an hp.com url. The new caretakers seem to have the site
https://hpofficesupply.com/product-categ...lculators/

up to date and correct.

We know that hp's web sites have always been a cluster....

At a guess, I'd suggest that the increase was made to align the price premium to the other HP business calculators. In terms of markup, the business models have always been sold at a premium in comparison to the scientific and graphic calculators (in terms of production cost). Perceived value is a two-edged sword, for every customer complaining that they're paying too much, there's another complaining that the item is 'too cheap' to be a product for 'professionals'.

The 10Bii is cheap enough but that's most definitely a student's calculator. Smile

Bob et. al.: I hope I didn't throw things off in timing how long a fix to the error would take, but I sent an email to Veronika about the mixup of the picture on the hp.com web page. I thought it would be a good idea to let her know directly rather than complain about it to each other. Civility is possible here.

Not a problem at all in my view, whatever works and gets things corrected sooner is fine, though I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if she can have the hp listings corrected. When I initially saw the page I thought it was somehow a product of the new Licensees, but now seems maybe it's just a page on HP's mess of a webmaze that ndzied1 found, and completely unrelated to the new Licensee efforts, which means it likely won't be updated for months.

Hopefully Veronika can get the new Licensee sales pages sorted out for the Prime soon, but I'd guess that for the other models the Licensees probably won't be selling them until production of the newly revised models is ready.

All of which is fine, it just seems it would be better if this stuff was was being communicated somehow...

None whatsoever... I have received a mail about this issue and have forwarded it to the people in HP that can take care. It will be sorted asap.

Also, I see some 'panic' when replies don't come in soon enough. Don't worry, we are not in the twilight zone, just too busy to check the forum every day. I wish it was different, but that's the case. Nothing is stopped, nothing is discontinued, I only ask a bit more patience. If things are urgent: klaas.kuperus@moravia-consulting.com works like a charm! Smile

Thank you for the updated links, Veronika!

I noticed there are no photos of the Prime. Does this mean it will no longer be sold?

No, nothing like that. The post was about packaging and product changes for a few model. On Prime, that wasn't needed. So nothing to post about that then.

You possibly need a dedicated customer forum of your own or failing that a dedicated section on this forum. Following a single thread on a third party forum is hardly ideal as a customer feedback mechanism.

I'm a little more concerned about the HP-35s. Is the 35s now officially cancelled?

I am a little concerned that no product changes were needed for the Prime.
The Android Prime App does not work offline for some users, and it never even got the Python beta App that the Prime G2 has.
Is there any possibility it might be brought up to date?

This was a discussion about why the physical design of the lower end machines have been updated and not the Prime, and Klaas was clarifying that there were no changes required for the physical case/design of the Prime.

No one doubts many changes are needed for the various Prime platforms and system components. Klaas has confirmed such changes indeed are needed and work is in progress on them, coming soon, we're just still waiting to know when soon will get here.

While most of the other models are priced about where they were, the 17Bii has crept up to $99.99. I wonder why 4/5 remain the same while the 5th one increased by 25%.

Checked this site today (tomorrow will be 2 months since it was posted here) and it still has the image of the 300S+. My guess of 5-7 days was wrong. Still can't say how long it will be...

Only 3 models are listed now: 17bII+, 10bII (sic) and Prime (with 300s product photo) but none of the 3 are in stock. A shame too, as the 17bII+ was down to $49. Worth getting several at that price!

One argument for why these few models remain available on the real HP's sales website is that there is some stock still present to sell off. But none of them are actually in-stock. And so..... other theories???

Finally, look at this Prime page on Royal's HP Calculator sales website:

https://hpofficesupply.com/product/hp-pr...alculator/

Check out those specs!

Why is it sad? I'm glad they're finally including a drop down bin for no more mess bottom drop emptying. That was the one feature that was missing on the Prime.
