HP-65 on ASTP
I'm sure many of you know that an HP-65 was flown on the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) mission in 1975. I have been trying for 45 years, off and on, to find the programs that were written for it. While the programs still elude me, I thought I'd share what I *have* learned. I've posted an article at http://hp65.genedorr.com about my quest and the results so far. If anyone has anything to add to that story, please feel free to contact me at gene dot dorr at gmail dot com, or post a reply here.

RE: HP-65 on ASTP
Hi Gene, and welcome to the forum.

Several years ago I also tried to track down someone at NASA who might know something about those 65 programs. I found out the email address of one of the guys on Gene Kranz's White Team (I can't remember his name now), and he said he would try to find out something but I guess he never did. I sure would like to see those programs too.

I did attend the launch of Apollo 11 in 1969 and filmed it with my 8mm movie camera. Here is the link.

Here is an auction with a HP-65 from Apollo-Soyuz Project. Regarding rumors this calculator in the auction was never in space, the only what you get from the Apollo-Soyuz project is the autograph card.

RE: HP-65 on ASTP
Thanks, this is a great article with a lot of detailed information.

As a side note related to the HP materials, the ASTP and the HP-65 were choosen to illustrate the month of April in the 10th Anniversary calendar published in 1982 for the 10th anniversary of the HP-35.
